I came to studying Acupuncture after experiencing its incredible benefits first hand. A course of treatments improved my fertility, and I had a successful pregnancy as a result. I also had the added benefits of experiencing an abundance of energy, restorative sleep, and calm and grounded emotional outlook, during what could have been a very stressful time. A few years later, I decided to study at the prestigious International College of Oriental Medicine, due to its outstanding reputation, and wonderful community feel. I graduated from the college, after studying for a 3 year BSc Honours degree in Classical Chinese Acupuncture, in affiliation with Greenwich University. The course allowed me to have the required 3000 hours of study time to gain membership to the British Acupuncture Council, and I abide by their codes of conduct, and safety procedures. My studies incorporated 5 element theory, TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) theory, and Stems and Branches theory. You can find brief outlines of these approaches explained in my FAQ page. All of these approaches were informed by the Chinese Classical texts which date back 2000 years. Treating issues related to women’s reproductive health, encompassing balancing the monthly cycle, fertility, pregnancy and birth preparation, is a particular area of interest and passion, and I have undertaken additional postgraduate training in treating fertility issues.
